The story behind the Fútbol Project is both quite ordinary and also very spectacular at the same time. It started with this guy, Ryan, wanting to bring some soccer balls down to the kids that he worked with at an orphanage in Honduras. The kids often played with nothing more than plastic coke bottles as the orphanage didn´t have the funds to buy balls. So, as a Christmas gift, we tried to raise about $400 to buy about 40 soccer balls. Five weeks later, the Fútbol Project took a deep breath and blew everyone´s expectations out of the water. We ended up raising almost $2,700, seven times more than the original goal. There was obviously a desire to give for this purpose and in 2005 we humbly hope to only exceed our first year donations by four--we want to raise $10,000 and buy soccer equipment for the entire year for 5 orphanages throughout Central America.

So check out our donation page for more details on how you can help.
